Angela Atkins, Chief Executive, APPNZ


Angela has worked in HR and Learning & Development roles for over 20 years. Key role include Head of HR and Learning at PostiePlus Group, Head of HR at Hanover Group and People & Learning Director at Elephant Group. Through Elephant Angela trained thousands of HR people and Managers on delivering better HR and people management. She is also the best selling author of Management Bites, Employment Bites, Training Bites and Safety Bites and is currently writing Payroll Bites. Angela has been part of the Learning Advisory Panel. Meredith Blackler, Director Organisational Development and HR, UCOL


Meredith’s HR experience crosses a number of sectors ranging from tutoring and researching HRM at Massey University to practicing HR in local government.  Meredith feels fortunate to have earned the opportunities and breadth of knowledge she’s gained in both teaching and practicing HR.  With experience in all aspects of generalist HR, Meredith is particularly passionate about strategic HRM, organisational culture and change management.  

With a Bachelor of Arts in Business Psychology and a Masters Degree in Management (endorsed in HRM) Meredith enjoys transferring her HR knowledge into a variety of contexts. Meredith has part of the HR Advisory Panel.

Michael Ross, Payroll & HR Technology Manager, Victoria University of Wellington


Michael Ross has had an extensive payroll career. He spent time working for Telstra Corporation, and then several years with ANZ, where he was part of the team transitioning the payroll team to Melbourne and then to Wellington. He is currently Manager Payroll and HR Technology at Victoria University of Wellington. His role manages the Payroll and HR technology teams and is part of the wider Human Resources Group. Michael has been part of the Payroll Advisory Panel.

Susan Lowe, General Manager People & Culture, Coca-Cola Amatil


Susan’s 20 year career has spanned Operational Management, Generalist HR Management as well as Learning and Organisational Development Management roles across the diverse FMCG, Retail and Trade sectors both here in NZ and the UK.

Susan is fervent about all things people but specifically growing capability, managing talent, having innovative approaches to career and development as well as future proofing organisations through learning and culture. Susan has been part of the Learning Advisory Panel.



Heading up the Learning, Talent and OD function at Noel Leeming, Susan and her team were recognised for their innovative work integrating technology with learning, part of which was introducing social learning to produce outstanding business results.

Aaron McIntosh, Director, McIntosh and Co.


Aaron McIntosh is a qualified, highly skilled and operationally focused Business Consultant providing a broad range of services to businesses across the disciplines of Employment Relations, HR, Health & Safety, ACC (including the ACC WSMP and WSD programs) Quality, Training & Development and general Business Management.

Key roles include Service Compliance Manager with Prestige, Capability Development Manager with Unison and HR Manager with Adcock & Donaldson. He has also worked with McDonalds, Fastway Couriers, Craggy Range and ESITO. Aaron has been part of the HR Advisory Panel.
