If you work as a Payroll Professional there are several ways you can join APPNZ:
A Professional Associate, Payroll (PPA) is recognised for their professional expertise and experience in being able to demonstrate that they are qualified to process and manage payroll effectively.
The guidelines set out the criteria and the benefits of being a member.
If you apply and are approved, then there is an annual fee of $300.00 + GST per year, of which $5.00 + GST goes to the APP Benevolent fund - which has been created to assist Associates in financial hardship.
Accredited Professional Associate
An Accredited Professional Payroll Associate (APPA) also works through a knowledge assessment to show they have in depth knowledge of payroll processes. Accredited Professional Associates can then choose to be listed on the public directory on this website.
The investment for being a APPA is $450 + GST for your initial application and first year and then $300 + GST per annum from year 2. If you are already a Professional Associate and apply, then there is a one off fee of $150 + GST.
APPNZ will be launching the Accreditation process in late 2017 for Payroll Professionals.
A Chartered Payroll Associate (CPA) will work through a comprehensive chartering process to demonstrate that they can deliver effective learning at a senior level.
APPNZ is currently developing a world class chartering process for release later in 2017. It will be a structured process that also includes assessing the application of these skills and knowledge in the workplace, and the contribution that the Payroll practitioner has made to business success.
If you are working to move into a Payroll career, or are starting out, then you can apply to be a Developing Associate.
This involves completing an application outlining your current skills and experience level.
You will then:
Receive a report of where and how you could grow your knowledge
Be able to participate in the Payroll Mentoring programme
Be able to attend any of the Payroll workshops
Receive a 50% discount off any other workshops you’d like to attend.
