The Association of People Professionals (APPNZ) was formed to establish a Chartering process for the HR, Learning & Development, Payroll and Talent professions in New Zealand. APPNZ’s aims also include providing regulation, advocating for law changes, promoting understanding of the value qualified professionals bring to a businesses and establishing learning pathways, tools and resources to grow competency across the professions.
APPNZ is now pleased to announce the appointment of a CEO to lead the Association into it’s next phase and to deliver the 2018 Strategic Goals.
Angela Atkins has had an extensive career in both HR and Learning & Development. She has worked at an executive level as Head of HR and Training for national retail chain PostiePlus Group and then Head of HR for Hanover Group, before co-
Through Elephant, Angela has consulted to hundreds of SME’s and worked as a part time HR and L&D Manager within the pharmaceutical, insurance and Government sectors. Angela also has developed and run extensive HR training programmes and HR, L&D and Payroll conferences which over 2,000 people professionals have attended.
She is also the best selling author of the bites series of books. They include Management Bites, which has sold over 10,000 copies in New Zealand, as well as Employment Bites, Training Bites and Safety Bites.
Angela spent four years on the HRINZ Auckland Branch Committee, serving for two years as Auckland Branch President. She has spent two years on the Learning Advisory Panel for APPNZ.
Angela says: ‘The workplace is changing significantly and people working in HR, Payroll, Learning and Talent need a new membership body that can support their career and their skill development in a variety of ways.
APPNZ has been built by people working in HR, Payroll, Learning and Talent who are passionate about changing our professions for the better. APPNZ provides flexible and innovative ways to support people professionals, create new communities and promote and regulate the professions.
